Spurs' Late Heroics Not Enough as Villa Claim Vital Win
Tottenham Hotspur's late heroics were not enough to prevent a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday. After falling behind to an early Ollie Watkins strike, Spurs fought back to equalize through Son Heung-min in the second half. However, Villa's Anwar El Ghazi scored a stunning late winner to secure all three points for the home side.
A Tale of Two Halves
The match was a tale of two halves, with Tottenham dominating the first period but failing to find a breakthrough. Villa, on the other hand, were much more clinical in the second half and took their chances when they came.
Spurs manager Jose Mourinho was left to rue his team's missed opportunities, saying: "We had enough chances to win the game, but we didn't take them. We need to be more clinical in front of goal."
